Puppy First-Year Vaccine & Vet Guide
Vets usually start a puppy vaccine series at 6 to 8 weeks; for most puppies the final dose in the series is given at 16 weeks or older (AVMA). Your vet may adjust the schedule.
Puppies need a series because their immune systems are immature and protection from the mother's milk doesn't last; later doses build on the first (AVMA).
